Microsoft’s biggest launch in years, the new Windows 10 operating system is coming to PCs, laptops, tablets and of course, smartphones.
The company earlier said that they will make the new OS so versatile that it will run seamlessly even on phones with just 512 MB of RAM to spare. The technical preview for the phones were rolled out earlier but the last update was long ago, in the month of February.
Now, in a statement, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 for phones is coming this Friday and it will be very much close to the final copy.
The developers are gearing up to officially launch the operating system in the next two months. With only eight weeks to go, you can be sure that the technical preview that they launch this weekend will be nothing short of impressive. After all, it is the one that is going to help them convince customers to buy Windows phones and not rely only on iOS and Android devices.
On the PC, it has shown a lot of promise and the OS looks amazing even on touchscreen tablets. But, we haven’t had a strong glimpse of it on the phones.
If you are planning to install it on your primary phone, you are definitely doing a big mistake. The technical preview may be unstable and cause a lot of issues. So, it is good to check it out on a spare phone or rather wait for the complete release.
Nokia and other manufacturers are yet to reveal their new devices that run on Windows 10 but it shouldn’t be long before an official announcement comes in. PC World has confirmed that as soon as the preview gets launched on Friday, they will be installing it on multiple devices and post detailed reviews. We will bring you all the updates right here.
