After so much of waiting and delays, it has been officially announced that Oculus Rift will land in the hands of consumers in 2016, to be precise in the first quarter of next year.
Virtual reality is a dream that many gamers wished to experience firsthand and Oculus Rift was the first one to actually become a formidable device. It had everything in place with good gameplay experience and less of motion sickness.
Besides, a wide range of developers were interested in making games for this platform. When Facebook purchased it, the deal was sealed and you could be sure they will bring it out.
Oculus Rift First Look Images
In their official blog, the developers of Oculus Rift has posted the first look images of the device which looks incredibly beautiful and promising. It has a solid plastic finish combined with leather and cushions for a comfortable fit.
The first edition is designed over the Crescent Bay prototype which was widely approved by the audience. It also has 3D spatial audio integrated into it.
PS4 and Xbox One Editions
Anything is a possibility, quoted vice president Nate Mitchell during a TechCrunch conference when questioned about the device coming to PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
“A lot of people are interested in VR and we are exploring the options of establishing a partnership. When things go fine, you can expect it to be officially announced,” Mitchell said.
No details related to the pricing or the specifications have been announced in the blog.
