Tesla is a manufacturer who is always associated with the Model S, the smaller sedan. The company is about to change this notion among people with a bigger and a better SUV.
Elon Musk, founder of the brand has confirmed that customers who have pre-ordered the vehicle and those who are planning to buy it on launch should be able to do so in the month of September. There has been plenty of release date delays for this anticipated SUV model from Tesla. However, the company adds that there won’t be any more delays. Musk in an interview said that it was one of the toughest cars to build which is why it got delayed than expected.
The colors, special features and interior aspects that were used in the Tesla Model X SUV will be revealed in their official website in two to three weeks. The vehicle features a grand full-wing doors and can seat up to seven people at once which makes it a great choice for long trips, if you could afford it!
Buyers have already paid $5,000 upfront even though the manufacturer has not officially revealed the pricing of the vehicle. It is expected to be around $50,000 or higher on launch. A small batch of SUVs will be delivered to people who have already pre-ordered it before the end of the third quarter while others will receive it in the following months.
“In our body shop, over 500 robots worked to build the Model X. We are spending maximum time in fine tuning the vehicle and ensuring that it meets the performance standards set by Tesla throughout the years,” said Elon Musk.
“This model could probably be the hardest car to build in the world but we are really confident that it will blow people away when the first batch gets launched,” he added.
