Seriously, the page might scroll till the end of your screen if we try to cover every product that Samsung launched at their press conference today.
It was easily one of the best conferences in recent time where they spoke less but their products were more than enough to showcase the prowess of the manufacturer. The conference was held in New York during which they confirmed that a Gear watch is coming, a tiny keyboard for their smartphones and two amazing flagship phones among other announcements.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5
The prominent announcement made during the event is the smartphones. Both phones feature a 5.7-inch quad HD display which is appropriately powered by the latest Exynos processor and 4 GB of RAM. The phones run on Android 5.1 operating system and has a 16 megapixel rear camera as well as a 5 megapixel front camera. Their batteries are big enough but charges in less time than other phones. As the name suggests, the Edge+ is a big phone that has a curved screen on the side.
A new camera app has been added to these phones which allow its users to instantly start streaming any video that they are capturing on Youtube. Live Broadcast is something new and will be exclusive only for those who spend on these flagships.
The phones are also capable of recording video in 4K ultra high definition and supports Samsung Pay, the new digital wallet that allows you to pay anywhere without having to take that credit card out. The Note 5 comes with a pen aka stylus which is a must have considering the big screen size. The S pen is much better and allows users to scribble on an empty screen before you wake up your phone to activate whatever you scribbled. Sounds nifty!
Keyboard Cover Case
Instead of having to get rid of a touchscreen interface, Samsung has come up with a new QWERTY keyboard. You can slide it on top of their phones and use it similar to how you would use a keyboard on a Blackberry device. It’s convenient, brings physical buttons back and can be snapped to the back panel when not in use.
Gear S2 Smartwatch
The Unpacked event didn’t showcase the smartwatch but promised that the Gear S2 will be making its official appearance on September 3 at the IFA show to be hosted in Berlin.
Galaxy Note 5’s rival Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was also unveiled on the same date. It’s much cheaper than Samsung’s phone but the final decision is yours. You can read more about its specifications and see some gorgeous pictures here.
