Astell & Kern is one of the less know company that makes some of the world’s best portable music players. Unlike iPods and cheap replicas, they make products for music lovers.
The company has took its first step into the world of home entertainment system with a pair of weird looking speakers that look like a ‘T’.
The Astell & Kern AKT1 is a multi-purpose hi-res sound system which is capable of playing audio from a wide range of sources including your television, iPod, smartphone, tablet and any other devices that might be lying around.
It supports up to 24-bit 192 kHz audio wirelessly or by using the optical, auxiliary or the micro SD card mounted inside it. The speakers has an Ethernet port, Wifi and supports aptX Bluetooth technology. In other words, you can literally play anything and everything using all the wireless tech in the world.
Astell & Kern AKT1 also supports DLNA technology and works wirelessly with any device that has the same feature. It works with all your devices iOS or Android as well as NAS setup if there is one in the house.
Six speakers including two 0.75 inch tweeters, two mids and two 6.5-inch woofers are mounted into this complete entertainment package. It uses a new technology where the tweeters are powered by an analogue amp while everything else uses a digital amp. A 4-inch touch screen is mounted on it to manually control it or by using the AK smartphone app.
Everything comes with a price and this amazing hybrid speaker system will cost $3,700 with a global launch scheduled before the end of 2015.
