Acer has stolen the thunder from everyone else at the IFA trade show which was held in Berlin. The company launched a slew of gaming devices in the new Predator series.
The Predator gaming lineup is quite impressive. The first in the lot is a 15-inch and 17-inch laptops. Both of them are powered by an i7 6700 HQ Intel Skylake processor, 64 GB of DDR4 RAM and has Nvidia Geforce GTX 980M graphics card. These Acer Predator gaming laptops also sport USB Type C ports, a 512 GB SSD drive and 802.11ac wireless connectivity. The models sport a 1080p display and given the specifications, it does sound like an overkill but everything’s an overkill when you talk about playing high end games on a laptop right?
The pricing for the models are at $1500 and $1600 respectively.
Predator Gaming Desktops
Acer Predator gaming desktops include the G6 and G3 models. The G3 is the cheapest of the lot priced at $849. Both these models sport Intel Skylake processors, GTX 980 series graphics cards and 64 GB of DDR4 RAM.
Design feature is one of the strongest point of the gaming desktops from Acer as they feature a completely closed design. There’s also a Predator gaming monitor in the lot. There is a 27-inch model and a 28-inch screen model, both with 1 ms response time, zero frame edge to edge design and more.
The monitors use a 4K resolution panel by default but buyers can downgrade it to a 2560 x 1440 IPS display if they wish to. They are designed to fully support Nvidia G sync technology. The official pricing is at $799. If you are ready to spend more, there’s the $1200 35-ich curved display with a 21:9 ratio. The monitor is a 4K UHD panel with G Sync technology and is an ideal choice for people with an ultra-high end gaming setup.
Tablets and Smartphones
Acer Predator series also launched an 8-inch gaming tablet with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels powered by an Intel Atom X7 processor and supports virtual surround sound. It is priced at $300. The company came up with a 6-inch gaming smartphone which has features similar to a flagship model but the uniqueness is when it supports haptic feedback while gaming, as real controllers do.
