While fans were worried and criticizing Sony for completely ditching the PS Vita, the company has announced a brand new limited Dragon Quest Edition for the Japanese audience.
Japan is the country which receives the best Sony content, be it the PS3, PS4 or the PS Vita. The new Dragon Quest Metal Slime Edition of the PS Vita glorifies the RPG series. It not only changes the overall design of the handheld console with an amazing silver paint but also dedicates the up button for an action named ‘Slime’ which is extremely popular within the game.
Dragon Quest is a title extremely similar to Mojang’s Minecraft. Everything you love about the handheld console remains the same except for the fact that it looks silver instead of the usual black. The up button uses the slime icon which looks similar to s$&t but as we never had the chance to play this RPG, we can’t comment how useful this dedicated button is. It’s important to summon the slime, they say!
Another unique feature of the limited edition console is the unique headphone jack plug which looks like the Liquid Metal Slime. The plastic rendering looks as if the slim is pouring onto the plug. On the inside, you will find that the PS Vita Dragon Question Edition has a silver Slime theme pre-loaded which you can customize, if you like to.
The back panel of the handheld is etched with the same logo. In short, it’s a dedication to fans who are crazy about the game and just couldn’t stop playing it. The new console comes with a physical copy of Dragon Quest Builders game and is bundled in a special edition silvery box. It’s pure red on the inside, similar to the ones you may find jewelries being packed in.
By any chance, if you live in Japan, it is possible to pick up the limited edition console for ¥25,980 which is roughly $210. The console goes on sale on January 28th.
Find the official images and description of the bundle on Sony’s official page. However, it’s in Japanese though.
