The rumor has a lot of credibility to it because Google has already reverted back to a smaller Nexus by launching one with the same 5-inch display and a large phone.
Apple has similar plans for the iPhone, probably one which is going to feature the same 6-inch display and called iPhone 7 while another iPhone 5S Mark II is in the making. The news comes from a legitimate source in Japan where the phone is currently being manufactured.
The upcoming device is expected to sport a compact 4-inch display because it is the size that you could hold with ease and operate without much difficulty. And, if it is more powerful than the predecessor iPhone 4 with a solid A8 chipset, 3D touch and iOS9, the deal is done. It’s easily the best iOS device that you could find in the market which wouldn’t stretch and hurt your fingers or make you look weird when talking on a tablet sized phone in the crowd.
According to the Japanese site, the phone will get launched in the first half of 2016 but we assume it will be in the first quarter than in July. The phone may also be called iPhone 6C to represent its smaller size and the pricing might be made more affordable for the rest of the world who don’t buy the device with a two year contract.
If Apple chooses this path, it could refresh their slowing sales and give it a fresh start. People definitely love smartphones and powerful processors but it is the expanding sizes that has been annoying them lately. It may not be a surprising announcement if Motorola or LG launch a 3.5-inch phone in the near future with latest Android M.
After all, the time we spent playing Angry Birds on it is long gone. It’s not a gaming device as there are others that could do the job. A good phone with great OS and speedy response is what the customer needs and deserves!
