Microsoft has finally rolled out the Outlook smart watch app on the Android Wear platform. The wait is really long because the app landed on the Apple Watch months ago, August 2015 to be precise.
Outlook on Android Wear is not going to be groundbreaking because it is the same old mail app that we have used through the years on PCs and smartphones. The watch version however is limited as it allows you to receive notification pop ups, read messages or use voice dictation to create an e-mail message on the go.
Obviously, the idea is not innovative or useful but more of a gimmick that one can use to show off their style factor in a crowd. The app is still being rolled out at a steady pace and it may take some days before every user is able to gain access to it.
The launch is pretty late when compared to the Apple Watch. But, there’s no competition here as both smart watches are eventually going towards a slow death. They are not adopted rapidly as hyped by the companies. The additional cost didn’t add much value and soon they may vanish from the market due to lack of support from app developers.
