Google has a dream, the Daydream VR that makes the technology affordable like never before. It does work only with the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. However, the company started delivering on its promise by launching some great apps and games on the Play Store today.
The Daydream VR is now available in two new fabric colors, Crimson and Snow and is easily the most comfortable headset in the market right now. With all these apps, there is plenty of browse through and get your first glimpse into the world of virtual reality.
Gunjack: End of Shift – Priced at $12.99, the epi science fiction shooter is designed for virtuality reality immersion. All you have to do is keep shooting that infinite wave of comets and alien ships using your high tech weapons.
Wands – At $5.99, Wands can turn you into Harry Potter in the VR world. Swipe, slash and wield your wand in 1880 London. It’s time to flip through that spell book and start learning some magic. You are wizard, at least when you put the headset on.
Lego Brickheadz – The game is free to play and allows you to create unique Brickheadz of your own in the fun, virtual world. It’s a game of imagination!
Need for Speed – NFS on Daydream VR is fun and costs you $19.99. The game is just a preview now and the full version is scheduled to get launched next year.
Movies & Entertainment
HBO Now, Netflix – Both apps are free to download but you should be subscribed to these services to watch movies and television series. HBO Now puts you in the center of the story, be it Game of Thrones or the Westworld. Netflix will soon add Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things among other series to watch them in a big sized screen, within your headset.
NextVR– An experimental but interesting idea which allows you to watch Daytona 500 race, NBA, NFL and music concerts with 3D immersion. The experience puts you right in the middle of the action even though you will nowhere be near the stadium as the event happens. The future is depicted with this new app.
Other new Google Daydream VR goodies include Underworld Overlord at $4.99, Layers of Fear priced at $9.99. A couple of new apps are heading to the store to grow the virtual reality ecosystem and convince buyers to adopt it in massive scale.
