Tim Cook, Apple’s head has spoken up and it’s reassuring to know that the company is not giving up on Mac desktops anytime soon.
The world moved towards a mobile first approach that created a lot of changes in the past few years. Smartphones and tablets were said to be the primary devices but in his statement, Cook said, “Desktops are strategic for us because it’s possible to pack in great performance.”
A statement that will unanimously be agreed by desktop lovers, PC gamers and professionals who rely on these supposedly dying breed of computers. Laptops and smartphones are alternatives but desktops are the forte. And, it’s great to see that Apple is getting ready to refresh its Mac Pro and other desktop lineup, if we are to go by Tim Cook’s statement.
“With fastest performance, largest screens and ample storage, memory, desktops are critical devices for people’s everyday usage. The Retina 5K display on the current generation iMac is easily the beautiful display of them all. We are definitely fully committed to desktops and there are plenty of them on the way. There is no reason to worry about them,” assured Cook.
Now, the guessing game begins. It could probably be a Mac Pro or Mac Mini. All of them haven’t witnessed a good overhaul in the past few years and any announcement would make fans really happy. We are looking forward to see how powerful they will be but obviously the ports are going to go missing. After all, 2017 is the time to adopt Type C USBs and ditch everything else, right? Even, headphone friendly 3.5mm jacks!!!
