The new Astell & Kern AK70 MKII portable music player is a revolutionary idea of its own, as the device aims to build up on the popular award-winning model.
It does so by adding dual DACs setup, providing better amplification, improved battery life and with such features the pricing of the product is going to be on the higher side. The portable player is about £100 more than existing model.
According to the company’s official description, the device provides optimum performance by providing dual DACs on both the right and the left channels. The player is powered by a bigger 2,500 mAh battery which promises improved life and more hours of music playback. It features a misty mint color instead of the popular black colored variant.
The 3.3-inch touchscreen display looks crisp and simplifies the process of finding the music tracks you like to play next. The traditional analog volume dial is conveniently placed on the right side as it has always been. The device weighs just 150 grams and is easy to keep in a jeans pocket, so that you can enjoy your tunes on the go.
The Astell & Kern AK70 MKII also converts into a USB DAC if you like to use it as one such for a laptop or a computer. The device relies on AudioQuest DragonFly Black technology to improve overall audio output. It supports Wifi connectivity, Bluetooth and is fully compatible with the AK Connect app.
The standard 3.5mm audio jack is found in the portable music player which comes bundled with 64GB of storage space and supports up to 200 GB on the micro SD card slot. The player costs £600 and will hit stores in the month of October. The official website provides more in-depth info, specifications and audio details.
