For the first time in the company’s history, Bowers & Wilkins PX is the first ever Active Noise Cancellation headphones from the popular brand. The over-ear headphones are designed to replace the existing P7 wireless currently available in the market.o
Everything about the newly announced PX headphones sound promising and they can easily meet the demands of audiophiles because of its technical specification. Under the brilliantly designed casing, they are powered by 40mm drivers which are already used in the P9 Signature Flagship product.
The angle of the ear pieces is slightly curved to the front so as to give a better defined frontal sound stage. Bowers & Wilkins is getting bit experimental with this product as they haven’t used their conventional materials but something new.
Design & Features
The Bowers & Wilkins PX headphones are wrapped in soft, black leather found in almost all their products. However, the exterior area is covered with ballistic nylon which improves the durability of the pair of cans.
Inspired by Apple’s color choices, the brand offers Space Grey and soft gold which is a combination of blue and gold finished aluminium sides. The headphones are equipped with wear sensor. Whenever you remove them off your ears, they automatically pause the music and go into low power mode.
Surprisingly, the PX ANC headphones will start playing music as soon as you put them on. Active Noise Cancellation is customizable through different levels, such as a higher level for airplanes and lower ones for office and public areas.
Bowers & Wilkins PX ANC headphones can last up to 22 hours on a single charge. It supports Bluetooth connectivity, has 3.5mm wired connectivity when you run out of juice and need a backup. The headphone can also run for 33 hours of continuous use when active noise cancellation is turned off.
Bundle includes the PX headphones, soft carry case and USB Type C port for charging which is a welcome addition as it gets rid of the ageing micro USB port. The B&W PX headphones are priced at £330.
