Samsung Galaxy X the tentative name for the foldable phone is definitely in the making if multiple rumors are to be believed. A new claim adds that the company is not going to risk it by going for a global launch.
Instead of bringing Galaxy X to the mass market, Samsung wants to launch it only in South Korea. Being their home region, it is much easier to overcome technical issues if it occurs and the company may not have to answer the entire world if things go wrong.
After all, a foldable display is extremely experimental at this point because the technology not only demands bendable display but the battery should be flexible as well. If another Note fiasco happens, it could be a blow on Samsung’s brand image.
The Samsung Galaxy X will be limited to just 100,000 units and sold only in South Korea. The rumor also claims a 2018 launch is planned which could be pushed further if things don’t shape up as expected in this short span of time.
