Rockstar Games seem to be changing their business model as the Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially coming to PC on November 5th.
The game developer refrained from releasing any of the RDR series on PC and it was available only on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the past. Players who had beefy gaming rigs could never try the open world cowboy shooter and the same was expected to happen for Red Dead Redemption 2 but luckily it didn’t.
A similar strategy was followed in the past for GTA V when it got launched only on PS3 and Xbox 360. The internet was rife with memes claiming that PC gamers will never get to play this exciting game. When Rockstar officially launched it on the platform, they not only enhanced the graphics by many tiers but also introduced a first person mode which was unheard of on the console platform.
Times are changing and there are plenty of console exclusives getting launched on PC these days. Sony already brought many titles including Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human through Epic store whereas Microsoft ensured almost all their exclusives are available on a gaming PC.
Titles like Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5 look and run amazing on the platform giving hope for PC gamers that Red Dead Redemption 2 will look absolutely gorgeous. After all, Rockstar has some tough competition on the platform with upcoming titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and many graphically intensive, open-world games.
If you have already invested in a massive gaming rig, this launch should definitely excite you. After all, it is one of the most wanted and widely acclaimed open world titles with a living, breathing world to explore. While there are similarities with GTA V, the entire Wild West scenario is something unique that you could experience and become a notorious bounty hunter.
Red Dead Online will allow multiplayer while it is also confirmed that Google Stadia will allow RDR 2 to be streamed when it gets launched. Stadia is still in its early stages but being able to stream this game on a smartphone sounds like the future gamers have always dreamed of.
Players who pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC will get,
• Outlaw survival kit
• War horse
• Treasure map along with Cash bonus
All these will be available for the story mode while you also get 50 gold bars for Red Dead online. The game is set for launch on PC on 5th November, 2019.
