Motorola has been going strong in their own segment without going mid-range or flagship with their smartphones. The Moto G8 Plus launched today along with the Moto E6 Play and Motorola One Macro all cater comfortably to the audience who love to enjoy good features on a budget.
At the same time, they are not super cheap phones at $200 or less either making them adequately balanced to compete with the likes of OnePlus 7 and other phones in the mid-range market. The top of the line position is filled by the Moto G8 Plus which costs about $310 and it delivers great value for the money you pay to own the phone.
In terms of specification, the phone has a powerful 48-megapixel camera, ultra-wide camera and a depth sensor. The triple camera setup is expected to deliver some amazing pictures considering the pricing of the phone. It does fall in the affordable category. The Moto G8 Plus has an equally powerful 25-megapixel front camera.
A large phone at that, the device has a 6.3-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and if you love watching videos, you will probably end up with black bars to view the full picture. The aspect ratio is unique and may not suit all visual content. The device has a large 4,000mAh battery, dual stereo speakers and is capable of producing boosted bass, according to the manufacturer.
Next in the line is the Motorola One Macro priced at $230 and it has been named for a reason. The Macro lens in the camera allows the user to zoom up to 5x to get a clear picture. The phone sports a 6.2-inch display with 64GB storage and 4,000mAh battery. The fast charging is mediocre at just 10W but should be okay as the battery could last much longer.
The Moto E6 Play is the most affordable of the lot as it costs just $130. It is a compact phone with 5.5-inch display with a 13-megapixel camera and a 3,000mAh battery. With three different phones in the market, Motorola got the Moto G8 Plus, Moto E6 Play and Motorola One Macro with unique features and at different price points to suit what buyers would expect from the brand.
