Philips Brings Android 7.0 Nougat Update to their Newest TVs

Philips is officially rolling out the newest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system to all their smart televisions released in the years 2016 and 2017.

Smart televisions are a dying breed because Google has some strict guidelines in place. Television manufacturers are not allowed to customize Android. However, Sony continues to roll out updates while others have slowed one.

After a long break, Philips has introduced 7.0 Nougat to all their newest Marshmallow televisions. It will allow their TVs to support HDR, Dolby Digital +, 4K casting, app recording and many other new features.

The rollout has already started but it will take a couple of weeks for the entire range of HDTVs to receive Android 7.0 update from Philips.
