Sony has approved a bunch of third party controllers for the PlayStation 4 console. They are divided into different categories, designs and sizes so as to suit the needs of each gamer.
Prepping up for the holiday season, the company has released two compact controllers which are exact replica of the DualShock controllers but easier to hold. There’s also a mini gamepad which looks a lot like the Nintendo Switch JoyCons.
Nacon Wired Compact Controller
The first in the lot is the Nacon compact edition which Sony says is designed for young players, children who can’t hold the original one with ease. All the popular features including a touch pad, vibration motors and stereo headset jack can be found in this edition which comes with a 3- meter long cable. A LED light is added to easily identify which player number you are or to get notified of low health in supported games.
The @Play designed wired compact controller further redesigns the original PS4 controller with more rounded edges and a two toned color design, including red and black, blue and black among other color combos. It has the exact same features including touchpad, button layout and home button but doesn’t feature a LED indicator.
HORI Mini Gamepad
The Nintendo Switch inspired PS4 mini gamepad is the smallest and most unique idea of the three. It still retains both thumb sticks, the D-pad and the buttons combined with shoulder buttons to smash them during intense fights. However, it’s ultra-compact and best fit for kids. Players can also simulate touch pad gestures using the sticks.
