New Survey Claims Nintendo Switch Handheld Mode is More Popular than Docked

Nintendo Switch was originally designed as a hybrid console that would work seamlessly both docked to the television and also on the go as a handheld device.

In most reviews, it was the handheld mode that was promoted and even people didn’t show much interest in playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey in docked mode. The assumptions are now confirmed through a new survey result.

Nintendo has published the Switch usage data strongly confirmed that almost 80 percent of the time, players are using the device in handheld mode while they dock it very rare. They do use both modes but the survey says at least 30 percent of Switch owners use it 80 percent of the time in handheld mode.

Another 20 percent of owners use it on docked mode for 80 percent of the time. Nintendo Switch is a highly versatile console and it looks like players are using it to its full potential, either way as they seem fit for their gaming style.
