Google Pixel 2 Users Unhappy as External Coating Starts Peeling

Google Pixel 2 users received yet another unhappy moment when the external coating on the XL smartphone started peeling off so early in its life cycle.

Within weeks of purchasing the smartphone, the users complained that burn-in issues started showing up on the OLED displays. Google had to accept the fact that some of the Pixel 2 smartphones were defective and choose to replace them within the warranty period.

The newest complaint is even unique because the coating on the back of the Pixel 2 XL smartphones have started peeling off on their own without any kind of user interruption and it has caused some major setback. However, it doesn’t happen on all phones and when it is no longer on the display, it becomes tough to type on a smudgy screen.

The Pixel 2 phones were manufactured by LG but the fault largely relies on Google for not quality checking the devices before shipping them. Some of the issues are being fixed with software updates whereas others are hardware based and can only be replaced in a warranty center.
