Sony has a very limited presence in the smartphone market as big players like Samsung, OnePlus and Motorola are making big treads. However, Sony phones are getting Android 10 update which is good news for those who purchased their flagship models.
The company has officially released a list of phone models that will soon get updated to the latest Android 10 operating system. It is great news for those who choose to invest hundreds of dollars in their flagship models. While Sony is still in the smartphone market, the releases are quite limited and their flagship phones don’t get the same level of attention like a Google Pixel or a Samsung Galaxy phone.
The brand continues to launch new phones in limited numbers every year. It is amazing to see them supporting their buyers with a timely update. Android 10 is yet to find its way to all major phones as Samsung is working on their One UI 2 beta which will also be rolled out along with the new OS.
It is expected the Samsung has planned to bring it out before the end of 2019. Sony may be on par with the same timeline which makes them a worthy competitor and a brand that you could trust in 2020. After all, Android phones are known for not bringing in timely updates but the few brands that do offer it on top of their custom UIs, it is good because you can at least your use your phone for two years or so.
Apple iPhones are still ahead in this regard even though they are much less innovative when compared to foldable phones from Samsung Fold and Motorola Razr. In Android 10, Sony phones confirmed here will receive dark mode, focus mode, gesture navigation and many cool features.
The rollouts for these Sony phones will be from one region to another as it will take a couple of weeks for everyone to receive it around the globe. The planned rollout will begin early 2020.
