LG, Netflix, Dolby and Others Unite to Launch Filmmaker Mode in TVs at CES 2020

The New Year 2020 is here and with it you can expect CES 2020 the yearly consumer electronics expo to go underway in the first month of the year. During this event, the entire year’s amazing new technologies will be revealed and slowly launched as features. LG, Samsung, Netflix, Dolby, Panasonic and Warner Bros among other partners will unite in order to bring Filmmaker Mode in all televisions next year.

The mode will enable directors to create a color, contrast ratio which when exactly applied on all major television models will allow people to enjoy a movie as it was meant to be. Theaters already comply with this rule because filmmakers have the option to deliver it in specific formats and color correction modes. The same cannot be applied to Home Cinema which is what is being rolled out during CES 2020 scheduled for the 6th of January.

The first set of television manufacturers to combine this technology into their products will be LG, Vizio and Panasonic while all other companies are expected to follow the trend. The idea is to tweak all the settings available in a television so as to provide the perfect Filmmaker Mode on each television. It will override everything you have configured so far in order to achieve best possible results.

While users may have customized the color, brightness and other aspects in their televisions to suit sports, movies or specific content that they watch, filmmaker mode will focus on implementing the original director’s vision in home cinema. Some features like motion smoothing strongly affects the quality of the movies that you watch which is what filmmakers don’t want you to do. The implementation will help and we will know more about it at CES 2020. And, it will also be the ground for more exciting new technologies that technology enthusiasts will look forward to.
