Classic Tetris is Now Back on Google Play Store as EA’s Tetris Retires

A classic game of Tetris can never be boring because of the creativeness involved in it and how it pushes you every time to think different to complete the available space. After lots of iterations, the original game is now back on Google Play Store. Electronic Arts owned the original one but the new version is published by N3twork.

Unlike Tetris Royale from Electronic Arts that tried to bring in 100 players similar to PUBG and Fortnite, this is the conventional classic version that you would love. There aren’t too many graphical advantages but it looks colorful and fun to play when we go by the screenshots. The 3D effect is evident in this new game but everything else remains the same because all you have to do is just keep changing the shape of the tiles until they fall into place.

Once you successfully complete the falling lot, a new one will be presented. Towards the end of the game there will be literally no space to change the tiles or their shape but has to be placed accordingly to complete every level. The competition level is literally high but that’s what made the original game so popular. You will be able to choose from multiple themes and there aren’t many DLCs or additional content to purchase. It is a great move as players and game publishers are no longer dwelling on the concept of making you purchase or keep paying in order to play a title. Meanwhile, EA will completely retire their version of Tetris from Google Play Store.

While mobile games still focus too much on cosmetic purchases and play to win theme, PC and console games have slowly moved out of this zone. The DLCs are being removed from major titles like Battlefield and it won’t be long before mobile games like Tetris among others follow the subscription model as done in Apple Arcade.
