While Apple iPads are great devices for consuming content and fun, using your Microsoft Office apps on the tablet would be much better with mouse and trackpad support. The company is working hard to make Microsoft Office a unified experience on Windows PCs, iOS and Android. This will enable users to create a document anywhere, edit and continue doing so on a completely different platform. The operating systems should support such a huge change and apart from working on it, they are also planning to bring in mouse cursors on iPad OS.
Microsoft will most probably add support for mouse and trackpads for Office Apps on iPad and it will be rolled out in Fall 2020. The company will take its own time to reveal a demo video and considering the fact that most people are working from home, it is not surprising that there aren’t any updates from most tech companies these days.
They have to co-ordinate their resources better in order to bring in software updates in time without any delay. Microsoft will do the same and being able to be much more productive on large devices like the 12.9-inch iPad would be a welcome addition for people who have spent over $1000 on a tablet that often tries to mimic a Mac or PC with moderate success.
