Being a free to play game has its own convenience because as soon as you purchase the console, you can download the game from the Xbox store or the PlayStation store so as to join lobbies online. Cross platform is the norm since the launch of Call of Duty Warzone and you should also be able to join games with PS4, Xbox One players who are already in millions, battling their way online.
The new Fortnite on Xbox Series X and PS5 will be designed on Unreal Engine 5 even though we expect it to be compatible with the older version of the game. It enables all players to enjoy the massive combat while those on the next generation platform will be able to enjoy it with better graphical fidelity.
However, it is not confirmed whether the game will run on the new engine from day one. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles are expected to launch in December 2020. The Unreal Engine 5 will be a slow transition and is expected to be announced towards the middle of 2021, so that both players and developers can adopt to this big change on brand new gaming consoles.
With new games being announced, it is evident that Microsoft and Sony’s consoles will be great to purchase as soon as launch especially with Xbox Series X supporting full backward compatibility as well as convert all your latest purchases to the newly launched console at no additional cost.
