The virtual reality and AR technology is not dead as many believe it to be so. Instead, it is expected to be more affordable and made for the masses if the new rumor is to be believed. According to the latest update, Apple Glass rumored pricing is just $499 and considering the company’s history of expensive gadgets, this is more on the affordable side.
Instead of using virtual reality which is not ready for mainstream yet, augmented reality is much more consumer friendly. Brands could display ads on your display as you walk through a mall and also let you know the pricing of products, their availability and lots of other information at a glass. You could even have movie trailers play in your smart glass when walking into a cinema hall and the possibilities are endless.
Besides, the Apple Glass could change the game especially if it is more affordable and has lots of real life AR applications to justify the purchase. Originally, the device was scheduled for launch along with the iPhone 12 during the September event. Things are not the same now due to the pandemic as productions have been cut down and it is a big challenge to even bring out iPhone 12 models in time for the holiday season.

The Apple Glass rumored pricing is just the start even though it has been reportedly postponed to an early 2021 launch. They are still in prototype stage but with companies like Microsoft and Oculus pushing the VR market, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Apple bring in their own share of augmented reality to help Mac and iOS users to get more information directly onto their eyes using a dual screen display.
It is to be seen how Apple handles customers and apps as this will lead to privacy issues as well but if done right, it could be the future many want after the smartphone revolution.
